Turning Up the Heat

The heat is on this week

It’s a comfortable morning with temperatures in the low 60s and dew point values in the middle 50s. It’s calm and quiet outside with only a small amount of valley fog. As we continue through the day, expect hot, but also comfortable as the humidity is still slacking. This will change tomorrow.

Temperatures are warming up thanks to a persistent heat ridge located to our south. As the ridge builds the heat and humidity will be on the rise in our neck of the woods. Temperatures will reach the low 90s routinely through the beginning of the work week. Humidity will wait one more day before blasting up. We will start to feel the moisture tomorrow. This means that as we top out in the low 90s, our heat index values will rise to near 100 degrees. The middle of the week will bring a slight reprieve. Showers and storms will fire along a cold front that will drop temperatures down into the upper 80s for the end of the week. More importantly, the humidity will get cut again and things will feel slightly better outside. Sunshine sticks around through next weekend as temperatures, once again, start pushing into the low 90s.
