“Coyote Ugly” turned 20 this year, and fans of the cult movie could be getting a special treat — if Tyra Banks has anything to do with it. During an appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Banks said a reboot of the movie was in the early stages.

“I literally was supposed to be on a conference call today about bringing ‘Coyote Ugly’ back,” the “Dancing with the Stars” host told Clarkson. “We were supposed to be on a call today, and I’m talking to you and I can’t talk to them. Yes, we are talking about trying to do ‘Coyote Ugly 2’ or a series.”

Banks starred as bartender Zoe in the original movie, which grossed more than $110 million at the box office, alongside Maria Bello, Bridget Moynahan, Piper Perabo and Izabella Miko.

“The Kelly Clarkson Show” tweeted about Banks’s news on Oct. 7.

No specifics are known about the reboot just yet, but Banks reminisced with Clarkson about the making of the original movie — including describing her audition for the role when she danced to Prince’s “Kiss.”

“They push play,” she said, setting the scene. “I’m in this huge hotel room, all these casting people lined up looking at me. And I’m dancing. I’m head-whipping … Then, after I’m out of breath, and then they all just started laughing. They’re like, ‘We are so sorry, but we were enjoying that so much, we kept the music going.'”

The movie also starred Adam Garcia, who recently revealed the story behind his raunchy striptease scene. Speaking on Australia’s “The Morning Show,” Garcia said the scene wasn’t in the original script, but came about when producers released that he was a professional dancer. However, they told him to downplay that.

“It all happened quite quickly,” Garcia said. “Travis Payne (the choreographer) and I went and choreographed this whole thing and we did it, and then they looked at it, and they said, ‘You look like a professional dancer.’ So they said, ‘Make it less pointy-toey.'”

Pointy toes or not, a reboot of “Coyote Ugly” has to include dancing on bars. It just wouldn’t be the same without it. Are you excited to see a new version of “Coyote Ugly”?
