LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Many fans were excited on Saturday as UK defeated Auburn and secured its 49th SEC regular-season title.
But one fan has another big reason to celebrate; Nick Hostetter sunk the half court shot at halftime to win $10,000.
"I blacked out, I don't even remember I just started running in circles, everybody started fist-bumping," said Hostetter.
Even the players had something to say about the remarkable shot, "That was the first time I've ever been in an arena where something like that happens, good for him," said Nate Sestina UK forward.
This isn't even the first time the recent UK grad made a halftime shot like this. Hostetter tells LEX18 that he won free Raising Canes for a year in high school after making a shot.
"I haven't really thought about it yet," Hostetter said about what he is going to do with the extra cash. "Some friends said maybe go to the casino up at Jack's Casino, but I haven't made any finals plans with it yet."
