LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — University of Kentucky's NICU and Labor Delivery Unit hosted its annual Walk to Remember on Sunday.

Any family who suffered the loss of a child was welcome to attend. The event is aimed at helping those parents honor their children who have passed.

This walk is held every year in October in concurrence with National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. LEX18 spoke to a family who attended the event who lost their baby at 7-months-old due to complications.

“That just makes you feel so special that you aren't forgotten no matter how long it's been they've even told us we will remember for as long as we are living and that makes you feel amazing,” said Danielle Carrithers.

Due to the rain the walk was moved inside this year, but a cherry tree will planted in the Arboretum in memory of these children.
