This late December warmth is the gift that keeps on giving. Yesterday was the second warmest Christmas Day in Lexington with a high of 69°. In case you were wondering, Christmas 1982 was the warmest when we hit 70°. It won't be quite that warm today with highs running in the mid 60s. That's still a good 10 to 15 degrees above normal! Skies will go partly sunny through the afternoon.

Temperatures will remain unseasonably warm through the weekend. There is a storm system brewing for weekend travelers that will bring rain to the Bluegrass beginning late Saturday and lasting throughout Sunday. Some of the rain could be heavy at times on Sunday. This system will quickly move out by Monday. Temperatures will cool down in its wake. Highs will be closer to normal in the low and mid 40s to close out 2019.
