PADUCAH (WPSD) — Police body camera video from Paducah shows people shooting fireworks at officers on the Fourth of July.

Video from WPSD Local 6 shows people throwing fireworks at officers at an apartment complex. One officer was hit with pieces of a mortar causing the officer's uniform to be singed

The Paducah Police Department has said dispatchers received multiple calls around 10 p.m. on Independence Day about disturbances in the Elmwood Court apartment complex.

When officers arrived at the complex, the police department said a mortar aerial was launched at them. The officers found a large crowd of people shooting fireworks and paintball guns at each other, as well as at buildings and vehicles. The police department says a police cruiser was hit by paintballs.

Two minors were cited on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and curfew violation. The department has said the investigation is ongoing regarding the fireworks shot at the officers, which may result in assault charges.
