LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Miranda Hinchman said when she posted on social media about walking around her neighborhood dressed as the Easter Bunny, she received an overwhelming response.
“I was kind of surprised. I live in the Home Place neighborhood and I heard from people in Andover, people in Gleneagles, Blackford, and I thought, ‘Oh, wow. There's no way that I can cover that much ground,” she said.
After regrouping and some quick thinking, she posted to social media again. This time to inform everyone she would be set up outside Garrett Morgan Elementary School if anyone wanted to drive-by and wave to the Easter Bunny.
“I didn't want to risk someone getting missed that wanted to see the Easter Bunny and someone being disappointed,” said Hinchman.
Between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., cars steadily drove by to sneak a peek at the Easter Bunny. Hinchman drew on the ground with chalk to ensure people wanting pictures knew where to stand to keep their distance.
“I'm hoping that all the kids that want a picture with the Easter Bunny get it and that parents get the opportunity to come up with something for Easter because I know we're all scrambling to get different plans,” said Hinchman.
