A large, slow-moving system will bring waves of rain and storms to central and eastern Kentucky through mid-week. Some of the heaviest rain will fall between Monday and Tuesday with one to three inches of rain possible. Rain will be heavy at times and will lead to the potential for flash flooding. A Flash Flood Watch will be in effect for almost the entire area through Tuesday evening.

There is also the potential for some stronger thunderstorms as this upper-level low sits and spins around Tennessee. Eastern Kentucky could see a few strong to severe thunderstorms Monday. Gusty winds, even an isolated spin-up are possible. The low will stall through Wednesday. Shower and storm coverage will gradually wane through late-week. The forecast is looking good for Memorial Day weekend - mostly sunny and dry with highs in the 80s.
