A Bit Frosty Early Thursday

We may be finished with the storms, but many people are spending the next few days cleaning the mess they made. After a wild ride with severe and tornadic weather last night and this morning, a ridge of high pressure will keep us grounded for another day.

We’re tracking a quiet pattern to remain into Thursday before the next round of active weather this weekend. Clear skies overnight will be responsible for rapidly cooling temperatures. Be prepared for a freezing start to Thursday morning. All of Kentucky is under a FREEZE WARNING starting early Thursday morning and lasting until 10:00 am. Temperatures will dip to 5-10 degrees below freezing for several hours. These harsh temperatures will damage vegetation that got going early this year in the warm February days. Also, be prepared for frost on the windshields as you head off to work tomorrow morning. If fog develops, it could leave a light sheen of ice on elevated road surfaces (bridges, overpasses, and highway ramps). Cooler temperatures remain in place over the weekend and we could be in for another “winter-like” pattern.
