Cooler Days Ahead

The weekend has been gorgeous thus far! However some changes are tracking our way as early as tonight. You may have noticed for more clouds across the sky as the day has gone on. That trend will continue overnight with skies going partly to mostly cloudy. The added cloud cover will keep lows in the low to mid 40s range.

If today gets an "A+" then tomorrow will get a "B." We are tracking more clouds than sunshine, which will cool us off a tad. Highs will run in the mid 60s. Rain will hold off until after dark, if not later, despite the ominous looking skies. A slow-moving system will lift out of the Southern Plains late Sunday. Spotty showers will be possible Sunday night for southern Kentucky. Most of the Bluegrass looks to stay dry through Monday morning. Late April showers will be off and on throughout most of the next week. Rain early in the week will come from this slow-moving low that will idle almost directly over the Commonwealth. A late-week round of showers will be associated with a cold front, that might just produce a little snow Saturday morning. We’ll be watching that closely.

With all that being said, even cooler temperatures are on the way next week. Cloudy skies and rain showers will keep temperatures on the cool side through the final days of April. We are tracking highs that will run 10 or so degrees below-normal.
