Small Shower Chance for Final Day of Spring Meet

Today has been a split day weather-wise. We have seen more sunshine and milder temperatures north, and a cooler and dreary day down south. Yet another wave of low pressure is tracking through Tennessee, which has tossed a few showers towards our southern counties. The rain will exit tonight with partly to mostly cloudy skies area-wide.

I guess the saying "in like a lion, out like a lamb" works for the Spring Meet too. Remember the cold start to the spring race season? We’re tracking a much better forecast for the final day out at Keeneland with variable clouds, comfy temps, and a stray late-day shower chance. This small shower chance will be the result of one of two cold fronts that will track through the Bluegrass into the start of the weekend. Both fronts won’t bring much in the way of rain, but instead gradual temperature drop. Saturday and Sunday’s highs will be seasonably cool in the lower 60s. There will be the potential for one more frost Sunday morning. Outside of that the weekend will be great! We are tracking increasing amounts of sunshine.

Temperatures are looking up through Derby week. In fact, highs will rocket towards 80 degrees by mid-week! More in the 8-Day Forecast over on the Weather page.
