The LEX 18 StormTracker Severe Threat Index remains at a Level 1. The combination of an approaching shortwave and a soupy airmass left behind by the remnants of Alberto will fuel storm chances through this afternoon and evening. Parts of the Bluegrass have already seen a batch of strong and severe thunderstorms blow through. We are tracking additional rounds of storms to arrive throughout the course of the afternoon and evening.

The primary threats will be damaging wind gusts and torrential rain. The lunchtime wave of storms also had the history of producing hail and tons of lightning.
