New day, but the same weather story. The LEX 18 StormTracker Severe Threat Index remains at a Level 1, or slight risk today. Much like yesterday we are tracking the potential for isolated strong/severe thunderstorms. Gusty winds and torrential rain will be the primary threats.

Rain will overspread the area by late morning. Pockets of heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms will be possible. A storm or two may push the limits and approach severe criteria this afternoon. Very similar to yesterday, any stronger storms today will be capable of producing downburst winds that may result in some minor damage. We are tracking the swatch of wet weather to taper off this evening. Showers will become fewer and farther between overnight. More rain will track our way Friday as an upper-level low glides over the Bluegrass.

Also, summer officially begins today at 6:07 AM. The forecast remains unsettled through the first "official" weekend of summer with more chances for showers and storms.
