After a hot day, there won’t be much relief overnight with lows in the mid 70s. Talk about a stuffy night. We are tracking another sizzler tomorrow with highs in the 90s and heat indices near 100°. The heat index is calculated in the shade, so out in the full sunshine it can feel even hotter. Most of the day will feature a mix of sun and clouds but given our soupy air mass a stray afternoon storm can’t be ruled out. We are tracking a slightly better chance for a few storms on Monday as a cold front tries to break through the dominant ridge across the eastern US.
There won’t be much relief from the heat awaiting us in July. Actually there’s just more of the same ahead. We will ride this heat wave through the end of the upcoming week with highs the neighborhood of 90 degrees and heat indices in the upper 90s. During this stretch stay hydrated and know the warning signs of heat-related illnesses.
