Are you staying cool on this Independence Day? A Heat Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM for all of central and eastern Kentucky. Don’t expect much relief from the dangerous heat and humidity tonight. We are tracking temperatures to only drop to the mid 80s for fireworks this evening. Otherwise, viewing conditions couldn’t be better with just a few clouds. Lows will settled into the 70s later tonight.

We are tracking one more hot and humid day tomorrow with highs in the low 90s and heat indices near 100 degrees. Clouds will increase throughout the day with chances for isolated storms by the evening. Thunderstorms will become more likely Thursday night and Friday. These storms will be associated with a cold front which will bring some relief from the heat and humidity by the weekend. We are tracking highs in the low to mid 80s instead of the 90s, and dew points will drop from "yuck" and "oppressive" to "muggy."
