One More Day With Heat and Humidity

and last updated

We just have to get through one more very hot and humid day before a big change comes to the forecast. Better-feeling air will work in after a late-week cold front. Temperatures are starting mild under muggy conditions this morning. The few pop-up showers/storms of yesterday evening have eroded away. Humidity will be up again throughout the day. A HEAT ADVISORY is in effect for some western and northern Bluegrass Counties.

The heat and humidity will build this afternoon and we’re expecting the last of the heat wave today. Temperatures will again top 90 degrees and heat index values will be pushing 100 degrees. A few pop-up showers and storms are possible and will deliver a dose of heavy rain and cloud-to-ground lightning. Strong wind gusts are also possible. The showers will come to a close overnight, but cloud coverage remains. A cold front diving south looks to completely change the forecast to a better feeling one. Friday, rain and thunderstorm activity is likely in the morning and afternoon. Shower and storms will begin wrapping up Friday evening and early Saturday morning. After that, the cooler and drier air works in and the weekend is looking spectacular!
