A Quiet & Hot Start to the Weekend

We’re tracking nice, but hot weather to start the upcoming weekend. Temperatures have been a smidge cooler and the humidity was cut today thanks to the latest cool front. High pressure behind the front will continue to keep skies mostly clear and keep rain at bay. Temperatures will top out in the mid to upper 80s this afternoon and we could see a few isolated pop-ups near the Cumberland Gap.

The high pressure over the first half of the weekend will continue to keep cumulus from building tall. Rain chances increase through the weekend. As pressure lowers, clouds will build a bit more Sunday and we could be seeing a few isolated storms cover the forecast area. Winds shifting will put more moisture at the surface, and that means the muggy feeling returns over the weekend as well. Next week, active weather continues and brings a chance for showers/storms through the beginning of the Barbasol Championship.
