Keep the rain gear handy this week! After some pop-up afternoon thunderstorms this weekend, we are tracking increasing chances for storms through mid-week. Activity will be spotty to scattered each of the next two days. Thunderstorms will be likely on Wednesday as a cold front dives through the Bluegrass. The severe threat will be on the low end through mid-week, but still some downpours and gusty winds will be possible. Behind the front more typical isolated late-day summertime storms will return.
On the temperature side of things, highs this weekend have lived up to the "dog days of summer." Lexington recorded the 20th 90-degree day of the year today. We won’t catch a break from the muggies, but thunderstorms will cool temperatures off a tad. We are tracking normal, if not slightly below-average high temperatures this week.
