The National Weather Service in JACKSON KY has issued a

* Flood Advisory for…
Central Knox County in southeastern Kentucky…

* Until 1245 PM EDT.

* At 1042 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
Up to one inch of rain has already fallen over portions of the
area and another half inch is possible before rain begins to taper
off.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Barbourville, Cannon, Dewitt, Yeager, Artemus, Flat Lick, Swanpond,
Himyar, Walker, Scalf, Barnyard and Baughman.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
