In case you forgot, it’s still summer. Today’s forecast will certainly remind us of that. The transition back to summer began yesterday with the return of the muggies. The combination of high humidity and highs near 90° will make for a steamy Sunday. We are tracking feels-like temperatures in the mid 90s this afternoon. A few pop-up storms will be possible, otherwise skies will be sunny to partly cloudy.
A ridge of high pressure will build over the Bluegrass over the coming day. The mercury will continue to climb with highs in the low 90s Monday and Tuesday. The ridge will also keep the muggies in place with small chances for storms. The ridge to track further east by mid-week making way for a cool front to drop in. Thunderstorms will return to StormTracker forecast for the final days of August. We are tracking scattered storms Wednesday and Thursday before becoming more spotty into the early days of September.
