Kicking Off a Steamy Holiday Weekend

Posted
and last updated

It may be the unofficial last weekend of summer, but summer is far from over! The holiday weekend kicks off with a warm evening for high school football. We are tracking spotty storms through sun down. Torrential rain and frequent lightning possible if you get caught in a thundershower. Keep the StormTracker Weather App handy if you’re heading out to a game this evening.

The steamy factor will continue to rise through the weekend. We are highs near 90° by Labor Day. There will be a small chance for storms, but those chances will go down as temperatures go up. There is more summer to come next week. We are tracking a high to set up across the Southeast. This set-up will fuel more hot and humid days along with daily chances for scattered storms.
