The calendar may say September, and meteorological fall, but summer is sticking around. We are tracking a hot and sticky start to the new month with highs bouncing around the mid 80s to near 90°. Dew points will be “tropical,” so add a few degrees to those highs to get the afternoon feels like temperatures.

As temperatures continue to rise through the end of the holiday weekend, storm chances will decrease. Clusters of showers and storms were here and there today. Tomorrow we’re tracking the possibility of a stray shower or storm. Any cells that pop up will be during the afternoon, and could produce some brief downpours. Labor Day will be almost completely dry and feature mostly sunny skies.

The heat and muggies will stick around as you head back to work on Tuesday. Highs will stay close to 90° through mid-week. We are tracking an unsettled set-up with isolated to scattered thunderstorms starting Thursday, which will knock temperatures down a notch.
