A Warm Welcome for October

So long rainy September. In case you missed it, Lexington set a record for monthly rainfall with 10.42″. This weekend has not reflected the rest of the month. The sun was shining brightly, just delightful for this time of year. Temperatures have been steadily warming. That trend will continue into the new work week.

I guess we’re saying hello to October with some “fall heat.” We are tracking a number of days with highs in the low 80s. That’s about 10 degrees above-normal for early October in Lexington. The only little blip in that stretch will come Tuesday as high drop a notch into the upper 70s. A few showers and thundershowers will sweep through the Bluegrass, briefly cooling us off. Temperatures will rebound and the sun will shine again through the back half of the work week. So where is the fall air? Certainly not in the latest 8 Day StormTracker Forecast. It stays warm through the end of Keeneland’s first week.
