That was quite the downpour overnight. Over the final two hours of the day yesterday, Lexington recorded 3.29 inches of rain. Bringing the daily rainfall total to 3.31″. That’s good for the 2nd wettest October day in Lexington. Overnight showers are exiting through eastern counties. Some low-lying areas may still deal with some standing water this morning.

We are tracking another warm October day for the start of Keeneland’s Fall Meet with highs in the low to mid 80s. Some sunshine should help to dry out the track, but there is also a chance for showers and thundershowers once again this afternoon and evening. Activity will be widely scattered at best with any storms fizzle during the evening. Temperatures will be off to the races this weekend with highs in the mid 80s. Unseasonably warm days will continue through the middle of next week. We are tracking the transition to fall towards the end of next week. A strong cold front will first usher in rounds of showers and storms before cooler air rushes in.
