Lexington recorded the first frost of the season this morning. Areas of frost will develop again tonight. We are tracking clear skies and a light breeze. Those conditions plus a cold air mass are just right for frost production.

After starting with areas of frost, Friday will be a milder days with highs in the low 60s. The trade-off, however, will be increasing clouds and the return of showers as a cold front tracks out of Canada. We are tracking the rain to hold off for most until the early evening. Widespread showers will continue through Saturday morning ahead of the front. Another bout of chilly air awaits on the backside. Once the rain clears out, temperatures will fall Saturday. The Cats game may be dry, but plan to dress in plenty of layers. It’s going to be a cold night at Kroger Field. The weekend will end crisp too with highs only near 50°. There will also be chances for a frost or freeze Saturday and Sunday night. Up-and-down temperatures through the 50s and 60s will continue into next week.
