Freezing rain and light icing reached its peak in Bluegrass overnight but is still a threat for far northern Kentucky- watch for an icy and generally wet commute with slick spots still a hazard. The impact from this storm has been highest west of the LEX 18 viewing area, along and west of I-65 and into southern Indiana where they’ve had multiple power outages from falling tree limbs & blown transformers. A winter weather advisory remains in effect through 6 AM with an ice storm warning over far northern Kentucky through noon.

Our “warm” push & cold rain changeover will continue to track north through daybreak. Dry air wrapping in ahead of the surface low over western Kentucky will turn the steady rain more showery Thursday- a few snow showers will wrap in with lingering rain showers this afternoon. Expect a cold, raw and blustery day with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s.
