The WINTER STORM WARNING has been extended to now include Clay, Knott, Knox, Leslie, McCreary, Perry, and Whitley counties.
The WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY has also been expanded. Now includes Lee and Magoffin counties.
All warnings and advisories are in effect through Sunday evening.
Heavy wet snow and some mixed precipitation will continue to track into southern Kentucky overnight. Minor to significant snow accumulation along with a light glaze of ice possible through Sunday evening. The highest amounts are expected across the far southeast corner of Kentucky. Travel conditions will become slippery, if not hazardous. The very wet nature of the snow plus any icing will put stress on power lines and tree limbs. Power outages may occur.
