Winter begins in two days, and all we’re missing is cold air. That’s coming. In the meantime, we will enjoy a warm rest of the afternoon with highs in the mid 50s. Skies have been dominated by sunshine the past two days. Clouds will move back in tonight.

The transition to colder temperatures will come with a multi-faceted system. We are tracking a few showers to arrive by morning. Widespread, steady rain will fall through most of the day Thursday and Friday. Colder air arrives with the start of winter. Lingering rain showers could briefly mix with, or change over to, snow late Friday. Up to an inch and a half of rain will be possible. Any snow accumulation will be meager at best.

Temperatures will bounce around the 40s and 50s through the end of the latest 8 Day StormTracker Forecast. Both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be mild. Hopefully Santa will pack his rain gear in his sleigh. We are tracking scattered rain showers on Christmas for the Bluegrass.
