Still Waiting on Sunshine in 2019

Our dreary and gloomy start to 2019 continues. (The overcast conditions aren’t doing temperatures any favors either.) We’ve even added passing showers for southeastern counties today. Drizzle and stray showers will continue through this evening.

Not to worry, sunshine will make an appearance Thursday afternoon. Temperature-wise it will be fairly typical January day with highs in the mid 40s. But we’ll only get a glimpse of sunshine. We are tracking the next round of rain to arrive on Friday. It will be associated with a low that is bringing wintry precipitation to the Southern Plains today. The low will track through the Gulf Coast tomorrow before spreading clouds and plain rain across the Bluegrass. This batch of showers will be in and out rather quickly. Showers will arrive during the second half of Friday and exit Saturday morning, if not late Friday night. The weekend is actually looking pretty nice with highs in the 50s and increasing amounts of sunshine.
