And just like that we are back to winter. Temperatures dropped last night and have stayed down. We’ve only managed the mid 30s for highs today. In some cases that’s 30 degrees colder than yesterday! We are in store for a very cold night as skies start to clear. We are tracking lows in the upper teens with wind chills near 10°, if not the single digits tomorrow morning. The sun will shine Thursday, but it will be even cold with highs only near freezing. Temperatures stays cold. That is a constant in your StormTracker Forecast.

Things will be a little interesting in time for the weekend. A pair of lows are coming onto the West Coast as we speak. These systems will move across the country and eventually merge before reaching Kentucky. We are tracking the potential for this winter storm to bring snow, rain, and a mix this weekend. It won’t be a clear cut precipitation type forecast thanks to a punch of milder air to the south. However, it is becoming clear that northern Kentucky has a greater probability of straight snow and an accumulation. The Bluegrass and certainly points south could see a mixed bag at times Saturday and Sunday with some minor accumulations.
