The LEX 18 Severe Threat Index remains at 1 Thursday, a slight risk. Expect rounds of heavy rain, strong storms (damaging wind) and a gusty south/southwest wind (30-40 mph) ahead of an approaching cold front. A flood watch remains in effect, Wednesday/Thursday total precipitation will top out in the 2″ to 4″ range. Watch for potential flooding along creeks, streams and flood prone areas.

After the cold front- we’re in for much colder air! We”ll soar to the low 70s & challenge record highs Thursday then plunge to the 30s with a few rain to snow showers overnight into early Friday morning.
