Brace for an absolutely miserable weekend as far as your StormTracker forecast is concerned! After a fairly quiet Friday with mostly cloudy skies and highs in the 40s a fast moving system will drop a quick, wintry hit Friday evening into early Saturday morning. Expect a brief icy mix over to light, accumulating snow across our southern counties (1″ to 2″) with travel impacts possible Saturday morning. A winter weather advisory is in effect due to the potential for slick and hazardous roads.
It’s looking more and more likely that Lexington will be riding the northern cutoff of that winter precip- we’ll end up with minor to no accumulation. We’ll sustain another hit later in the weekend but end up just mild enough to keep it a wintry mix over to mainly cold rain showers Sunday.
