Today’s rainfall set a daily record in Lexington all before 1 PM. The focus of the heavy rain has shifted into our eastern counties, but scattered showers are still hanging on around the Bluegrass. We will see activity wind down as the night wears on. A Flood Watch remains in effect through the morning. Tomorrow will bring a brief break from the rain. Skies will feature breaks for sunshine and temperatures will be a little cooler with highs in the lower 50s.

This is just round number one. Showers will creep back in Thursday night. Steady rain will hang around into the start of the weekend. There will be more heavy rain plus the potential for thunderstorms on Saturday. A strong low will move through the Ohio Valley. A few gusty storms will be possible in process. We could pick up an additional one to three inches of rain. There won’t be much time for the soggy ground to recover, so the flooding threat will be heightened once again.
