A potent storm system is heading our way and bringing the potential for some springtime thunderstorms. Activity will zoom across the area over the coming hours. Heavy rain and flooding remain the primary threats tonight. A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for all of central and eastern Kentucky through Sunday morning. High water issues continue, especially down south. If you must travel late tonight, watch out for flood waters. Streams, creeks, and rivers are already running high. Additional heavy rain will aggravate flooding concerns. Excessive runoff will also lead to more flooding.

This is also a case where the severe threat is not zero. Thunderstorms are developing ahead of a mighty cold. Some strong storms will be possible through the midnight hour for the Bluegrass; the threat lingers a couple more hours for eastern Kentucky. Strong to damaging wind gusts are possible. Rain and thunderstorms will shut down quickly once the cold front clears. Gusty conditions will linger into Sunday. A Wind Advisory will be in effect tomorrow for the potential of up to 45 mph wind gusts.
