A quick hit of wintry weather will develop late tonight and linger into Friday morning. Light accumulating snow with totals in the trace to two inch range will be possible along and north of I-64. Meanwhile down south it will be mostly a cold rain.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in place through tomorrow morning. Roads will be wet, potentially slushy or snow covered during the morning commute. Throughout the morning we will see snow change over to a light rain, which will end during the second part of the day.

Then we’ll flip the switch to spring this weekend. Highs will be in the low 60s before rain and storms develop late in the day on Saturday. We are tracking the activity to end by early Sunday morning. The end of the weekend looks great with highs in the upper 50s and sunshine. The spring-like will be a little bit of a tease. Early next week will feature more seasonal temperatures before another bout of spring weather moves in Wednesday and Thursday.
