From winter today to spring tomorrow. Today’s snow to rain event is winding down. In fact, it’s a distant memory not that the snow has melted. Tonight and the first part of Saturday will be quiet before the next active weather maker rolls into town.

A potent storm system will sweep through the middle of the country. Lucky for us we are on the “warm” side. The day will start off warm and windy with highs in the lower 60s. We will watch for showers and strong gusty storms to develop later in the day. The threat for severe storms will be across the Mississippi Valley. A few strong thunderstorms could impact parts of the Bluegrass Saturday evening. Everything will wrap up during the late night hours.

Sunday will be the pick of the weekend with slightly cooler highs in the mid to upper 50s and sunshine. Also, don’t forget Daylight Saving Time begins early Sunday morning. We are “springing forward.”
