As promised light rain showers have been trekking east through the afternoon. Activity will remain on the light and scattered side through this evening. As a low, currently positioned between Kansas City and St. Louis, moves east more widespread rain and a few rumbles of thunder will develop in the hours after midnight.

Don’t forget the rain gear as you head out the door tomorrow morning. The best chances for rain will come during the first half of the day. Showers will start winding down Monday evening. Cooler and drier air will replace the soggy conditions. Highs will drop from the low/mid 50s Monday to the upper 40s on Tuesday. Things are looking up for the rest of the week. High pressure will become the dominant weather feature starting Tuesday – that means we can expect plenty of sunshine to go around. Temperatures are also on their way up. We could flirt with 70 degrees Thursday and Friday.
