Following a morning round of showers and thunderstorms, we have renewed chances for storms this afternoon. Waves of rain and storms will continue to move through central Kentucky. The severe threat is fairly low, but not zero. Southern Kentucky stands a better shot for strong to severe thunderstorms.
These storms already heavy rain makers today. Damaging winds and locally heavy rain are the primary threats. Some hail possible too. If you happen to be at Keeneland, please be alert to lightning that may be in the area as well.
The threat will subside this evening. Most should see a break in the action overnight. Then comes a repeat performance tomorrow as a cold front stretches out to our northwest. This will keep rain and thundershowers around through most of the day. We will lack the ingredients for stronger storms, but downpours will again be possible.
