Yesterday we told you about a pair of systems that would impact the Bluegrass. The first low brought a few showers and thundershowers to the area last night through this morning. Low #2 is set to arrive this evening and will be more potent.

Any activity will be spotty into this evening. More widespread showers with locally heavy rain will be possible overnight. Some areas may pick up between an inch and an inch and a half of rain through early Friday afternoon. After getting off to a soggy start, showers will wind down during the first half of Friday with bits of sunshine breaking through later in the day.

This will set up a slightly cooler and mostly dry weekend. Highs will drop back into the 60s with low-end chances for showers, especially late Saturday. There’s more springtime weather to come next week with a few more showers and storms, along with highs climbing through the 70s and into the lower 80s. The pre-summer heat looks to hold on into Derby weekend. Highs will be near 80° with a chance for shower or storm for the Kentucky Oaks next Friday.
