Following the cooler conditions this weekend, temperatures will be off to the races this week. A very warm surge of springtime air will send high temperatures into the 80s during the first half of the upcoming week. Wednesday will be the hottest of the bunch with highs in the mid 80s. Average highs through the early days of May are running near 70°.

We will be able to hold off showers and storms for a few days. Pop-up afternoon showers and storms can’t be ruled out Monday and Tuesday. Storm chances will be on the rise later in the week. Showers and storms will become more numerous Thursday, and will spill over into Oaks Day. Derby Day is still looking dry and cooler with a near-normal high.
