A batch of strong and severe thunderstorms kicked start a stretch of active weather. After a brief break in the action, more rain will arrive through the night. Again, heavy rain will be possible into Friday morning. While showers will be fairly steady during the first part of the day, activity will dissipate into the afternoon. Skies will remain cloudy, but there still looks to be a break in the action around post time for the Oaks.
But you guessed it, more rain arrives Friday night. A soaking rain will fall through most of Derby Day. Fortunately it doesn’t appear to be like the non-stop heavy rain that we saw at last year’s Derby. Pack your poncho, and place your bets on a mudder.
