Open up the pool, fire up the grill, or head to the lake. There will be plenty of time this holiday weekend for all of the fun summertime activities. There will also be plenty of high heat and humidity to go around. High temperatures will range from the mid 80s to the lower 90s. Add on the high humidity, feels-like temperatures will be well into the 90s.

We are looking mostly good, outside of the steamy conditions, through Memorial Day. The big “heat ridge” over the Southeast will dominant our weather story for days to come. The ridge will sort of loosen it’s hold on Sunday. This will allow a low to dive southward through parts of Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. With that being said there’s a slightly better chance for storms on Sunday, especially north of I-64. Some thunderstorms could be on the strong side with wind damage getting top billing. By Memorial Day we’ll return to chances for heat-of-the-day, pop-up storms.
