It’s the unofficial start of summer and this long Memorial Day weekend we’re set to simmer in the Commonwealth.That dominant heat ridge anchored southeast will keep pumping heat and humidity into the Ohio Valley this weekend and into next week. Lexington hit 89° the last two days and we have multiple shots at our first 90° high of the year inbound. Stay hydrated and find an open pool or hit the lake this weekend- this is perfect weather for it.
One potential issue, a late weekend weakness in that ridge will allow scattered showers and storms to fire Sunday into Sunday night. Beyond that, we’ll see a daily chance for isolated, heat of the day, pop up showers and storms each afternoon.
