A cold front has been pushing through the area late today. In the process it has sparked a few downpours and strong thunderstorms across eastern Kentucky. The activity will fizzle through the evening hours, and skies will start clearing. Cooler and drier air will rush in overnight. Temperatures will bottom out in the upper 40s to lower 50s.
It will be a toss up whether Monday or Tuesday will be the nicer day. (I guess it comes down to your temperature preference.) Soak up the sunshine and pleasant conditions. Rain and storms return Tuesday night and will stick around through next weekend. A few thunderstorms could also be on the strong side, but heavy rain will be the greatest threat. Several inches of rain will be possible over a five-day stretch. Localized flooding concerns may arise.
