Steamy Stretch Through Early Next Week

Posted
and last updated

June is going out with a steamy forecast. The next couple of days will be ideal for keeping cool by the lake or the pool. High temperatures will continue to hover around 90 degrees with the heat index running in the low to mid 90s. Pop-up thunderstorms can’t be ruled out during these sultry afternoons. These storms will be fairly few and far between. Some may produce locally heavy rain with gusty winds and small hail.

A big sprawling ridge extending from the Desert Southwest to the East Coast will stay clammed down into early next week. Monday and Tuesday will remain hot and humid with very low chances for thunderstorms. A regime of more organized storms will arrive mid-week, which will linger into the 4th of July. Even then the coverage will be rather spotty. Temperatures won’t cool off much with a slight bump in storm chances. Highs around the 4th will be in the mid 80s.
