The past few days have just been icky with high humidity plus a lot of moisture in the form of rain, but a much nicer air mass and stretch of weather is headed our way as we near the weekend. Rain and storm chances are still high for the rest of today and tomorrow, but by Friday, a cold front will sweep the muggies out early and leave us with great weather in the wake. Keep the umbrella around for this evening as a low pressure and high atmospheric moisture content will keep the heavy downpours scattered around and south of I-64. Tomorrow, most of the storms will be confined to southeastern KY, but can still hold heavy rain and gusty winds. Between this evening and tomorrow, rain totals could still reach the 1-2 inch range across the state.

Toward the weekend, we see a big dip in the humidity levels which will leave the air feeling comfortable instead of yuck. Not only that, but rain and thunderstorm chances will take a nice break as we welcome the sunshine back into Kentucky. High temperatures may still reach the 80-degree mark all the way through early next week.
