Heat Advisory for Most of Ohio Valley

Heat Index Values Expected into 100s

The ridge of high pressure is upon us and is sending most of the Ohio Valley into a heat wave which could produce heat index values as high as 105° Sunday. Central KY is not included in the advisory, but we won't miss out on the heat. Our high temperatures are expected to remain in the low to mid 90s tomorrow with heat index values up to 102° for some. Skies will be sunny and inviting, but remember to be safe in the heat. Wear light colors, stay hydrated and be sure your pets are cool too.

The worst of the heat should wrap up late Sunday leaving us with a better chance for rain and thunderstorms by early next work week including Monday. The chance for rain also means we likely won't make it to the mid 90s again Monday, but more like the low 90s which is still hot. The summer-like trend with heat, humidity and daily thunderstorm chances then continues for the next several days.
