As we head toward the second day of our weekend, we'll see a more active weather trend. A line of showers and thunderstorms will move across the Plains this evening and inch toward the Commonwealth later tonight/overnight and likely continue through Sunday too. A cold front came through Friday which brought eastern KY some activity, but this secondary cold front will keep most of the action in western KY tonight. The Storm Prediction Center has placed western KY under a slight risk for severe storms including severe hail and damaging winds and a marginal risk for central KY. As the front shifts so does the severe threat. The marginal risk will cover the entire state of Kentucky tomorrow.

Expect the rain and a few storms tonight around midnight then another round into Sunday afternoon as the front passes. Due to the rain, temperatures will remain in the lower 80s for tomorrow. More heat and humidity makes a comeback by mid week as we trend drier and sunny for a few days.
