More Rain and Storms for the Weekend

Heavy Rain Could Lead to Flash Flooding

Most of this week, we had a nice break from the rain and humidity, but now both are back full force and will keep us soggy and active as we head into another weekend. The high pressure is leaving us and with a stationary boundary in the deep south, we are seeing our moisture content increase here in Kentucky. The showers have already begun this afternoon with some very heavy downpours attached. As storms move slowly this evening and overnight, localized flash flooding is a possibility though we have no flood watches or warnings as of yet. Some spots could pick up as much as two inches of rain by late tomorrow.

Keep the umbrellas around for more scattered showers and thunderstorms firing up Saturday. By Sunday, most of the action will subside as a bit more heat will pick up. Monday through Thursday of next week look great and dry, but high temperatures will soar back up near 90 degrees!
