We have seen some heavy rain moving through overnight around midnight and we still have more showers and storms to get through today before we start to dry back out heading into the weekend. The Flash Flood Watch still remains in place for some of our counties in eastern KY until 5 pm, but most have been dropped from the heavy rain threat. Wind gusts in the 25-30 mph range is likely today, too. Eastern KY is also under a marginal risk for severe storms today. This action is part of a low pressure with attached cold front which will bring us some needed-relief from the humidity soon.

A wonderful weekend is coming up with low humidity, sunny skies and more normal high temperatures. It will be spectacular for any Derby Day plans you may have, but keep the sunscreen around. We will remain dry through most of Labor Day then rain and storm chances will resume through mid next week.
